International Day of Climate Action: Innovation and Urgency from Hethel Innovation & Clean Tech East
by Emily Nichols | 24th Oct 2025 | Hethel Innovation
October 24 is more than a date; it’s the International Day of Climate Action, a global call to move from talking to doing.
At Hethel Innovation, this call hits home every day. And we’re proud that our members, like Tree Associates, are already answering it. They recently shared how a breakthrough in renewable energy technology, incubated here, has rapidly moved from concept to real-world pilot. That’s the kind of tangible innovation our region and our planet urgently need.
Together with CleanTech East, Hethel Innovation sits at the heart of East Anglia’s clean energy transition. Bringing together a community of businesses with a shared vision of pioneering renewable energy initiatives; circular economy innovation; and smarter, more sustainable industries; these breakthroughs are more than just ideas. They’re real game-changers for both our economy and our environment.
The International Day of Climate Action reminds us that the science is clear, and what matters now is creativity, collaboration and the resolve to turn conversation into innovation, and to create real-world solutions to real-world problems.
At Hethel, we provide the fertile ground for action – through incubation, skills training, and collaborative spaces, where innovations not only take root, but flourish at pace.
So, this October 24, we ask:
What action will your business take? And what change can you help to create?
Because when communities come together to innovate with passion and purpose, real change happens, right here, right now. Join us in building the solutions our future depends on. Climate Action isn’t just for one day, it is our every day.

As Marketing Lead at Hethel Innovation, I bring together a passion for storytelling, community building, and driving impact within the region’s vibrant innovation ecosystem. But I try to do this through the lens of good trouble, finding a way to balance creativity with strategy, often throwing the unexpected into the mix. I'm a firm believer in human first, so when I look at the vibrant innovation landscape around me at Hethel Innovation, it sparks curiosity and questioning. It's one thing to look at data points; it's another to uncover the passion and journey behind it.
