Broadland Food Innovation Centre
Norfolk and Suffolk’s first dedicated food grade innovation space

The Broadland Food Innovation Centre is a purpose-built centre for food and drink businesses, located on the Food Enterprise Park in Norwich.
With a goal of connecting the community of local producers, suppliers and researchers in the food and drink community, the centre provides a range of support services to businesses in Norfolk and Suffolk.
The centre was built in response to requests from industry for a space like this, so, with the help from the European Regional Development Fund, Broadland District Council, New Anglia LEP, Hethel Innovation and University of East Anglia, a project to build the centre and set up recognised business support activity and a cluster network was completed in 2022.
The centre is designed to support businesses who are at a critical point of expansion. Everything you need is in one place, for food innovation, presentation and production.
Support facilities including test kitchens, tasking rooms, filming kitchens, conferencing and meeting spaces are all available for hire – for anyone (you don’t have to be a member of the centre to use them). Our team will be there to support you make the most of the facilities on site as well as provide dedicated innovation support from our specialist advisors. If you are a business in Norfolk or Suffolk you may be eligible for funding to cover this support.
Our team run a number of events throughout the year to support your learning and give you the opportunity to meet others in your field.
Our goal is to support as many food and drink businesses to commercialise their products and achieve their vision for success.
The Broadland Food Innovation Centre project has received £5.7 m of funding from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. The Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities is the Managing Authority for European Regional Development Fund. Established by the European Union, the European Regional Development Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support innovation, businesses, create jobs and local community regenerations.
