I am in maintenance and have been in it for some time now. I love fixing things and when I do, it gives me great satisfaction to think I have done that. Thank goodness there aren’t as many blocked toilets here as there have been in other jobs. Fire doors are a new experience, and I didn’t appreciate there was so much to maintaining them.

My maintenance role is varied which I really enjoy. One day, I could be painting. The next day I could be fixing a drawer someone has leant on and broken in the office. Seems to be there will always be a job for maintenance somewhere. And I also love powertools!

I do like building but mostly Lego Technics. I was in landscape maintenance for many years and again really really loved fixing up gardens and shaping outside areas.

If you could be on any TV Show, what would it be and why?

The Santa Clause 1, 2, and 3 because I could live Christmas all year round (to annoy Rob Yallop).

If you could choose any fictional place to live in, what would it be and why?

WHOVILLE, because I love Christmas and snow.

You’re stranded on a deserted island and can only bring one meal with you to eat indefinitely, what would it be and why?

All different flavours of ice cream – not many days go by that I don’t eat it.

What would your coworkers be surprised to learn about you?

I have a medal for high jump on roller-skates and I used to teach roller-skating.

What 3 things in your bag can’t you live without?

My Christmas lights are ready to put up in October.

Presents, because I just love presents.
