Finding economic solutions, rectifying complexities within the building structure and grounds, communicating with like-minded individuals with similar and/or engineering backgrounds, and building rapport with tenants.

The dynamic career of 33 years in the oil and gas industry utilising explosives, chemicals, radiation sources, mechanical down-hole tools, and later moving on to specialist frac/well testing projects on HP corrosive gas/oil wells. Started in UK sector with intervening posts in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Brunei, Nigeria, Kazahstan, Libya & Brunei (2nd time).

I brought a wealth of Health & Safety & procedural knowledge from my former career (life), utilising my ‘practical knowledge & communication skills’ in a part-time role at HEC (Hethel Engineering Centre).

If you could be on any TV Show, what would it be and why?

Hunted. As living off grid away from technology and prying eyes would be easy. Just reside in some isolated woods (with a stash of groceries) and stay put. Easy money!

You’re stranded on a deserted island and can only bring one meal with you to eat indefinitely, what would it be and why?

Tandoori mixed grill.

What would your coworkers be surprised to learn about you?

Kidnapped, placed in a hole in the ground and held at knife/gunpoint in Africa.  Survived to tell the tale 😊. Helped by reading several of Andy McNab’s SAS survival books!!!

What 3 things in your bag can’t you live without?

Sadly, mobile phone, chocolate, and the odd pack of crisps
