High-Performance Carbon Reduction project

Cleantech East member and Hethel Engineering Centre tenant, Equipmake, have developed the AMP200 drivetrain for the new, high performance, electric sports car in collaboration with UK Niche Vehicle manufacturer, Ariel.

The High-Performance Carbon Reduction (HIPERCAR) project is on track for a 2019 release. Focused on high performance, agility, usability with ultra-low emissions the car will be built in Somerset, England in a collaborative effort between Ariel, Equipmake and Delta Motors.

An ultra-light body and the high-powered, clean engine is responsible for the impressive specs for the HIPERCAR with top speeds of 160mph and 0-100 in just 3.8 seconds. In fact, it is so light that Ariel are having to use ground-effect technology, such as fans to such the car to the road to prevent wheel spinning.
