About Treefrog

Treefrog are a specialist business to business (B2B) marketing company based at Hethel Engineering Centre and offer the following services: email marketing automation; marketing technology provision; strategy and planning development; social media and brand development; website design and management; and tailored content & communications – all specific to the needs of the client and their customers.

Since their inception in Spring 2022, Treefrog have had some major successes, securing long-term projects with big tech companies. During a member check-in with Innovation Consultants Rikke and Sam, they discussed their journey so far, their successes and their plans for the future. They quickly realised that outside of these projects, they were keen to discuss other opportunities for growth and development.

Getting Started…

Rikke and Sam met with Mike and Max from Treefrog to understand the extent of the opportunities for growth and the inherent challenges involved in leveraging them.

From here Rikke and Sam created a bespoke one-day Design Sprint including resources, information and activities designed specifically to achieve a mutually agreed set of outcomes.

What Did Treefrog Want to Achieve and How Did We Support Them?

Treefrog wanted to explore opportunities to work on different projects with new companies in different sectors and industries – ultimately expanding their experience to secure new long-term business.

To do this we examined and discussed Treefrog’s network of competitors, and their services and project portfolios. This included the sectors, industries, companies, and projects they had worked with/on, in order to identify and exploit high-value collaborative opportunities with potential new clients.

We mapped Treefrog’s current capabilities (qualifications, skills, knowledge, experience, resources, and capacity) in order to understand where best to invest in new services with high return on investment, which could also  enhance their project portfolio in the future.

Having considered and defined a number of potential target customers, we then discussed and analysed these groups further, creating detailed customer profiles describing their psychographic, geographical, demographic, and behavioural characteristics which could be used by Treefrog at a later date to influence their marketing strategy.

Treefrog wanted a simple, but effective way to communicate any new service offering to potential new customers.

To achieve this we worked with Treefrog to create the following:

  • An updated value proposition statement for each new service and the business as a whole, to communicate – in the simplest way possible – the offerings and holistic value that Treefrog provide to its current and future customers.

  • A set of core values that can guide internal decision-making, influence organisational culture, and give new customers an insight into Treefrog’s values and the dynamics of any potential collaborative relationship.

  • An elevator pitch that can be used in different contexts to introduce and explain Treefrog and its value to external stakeholders – potentially securing new business opportunities by winning its speaker a second, more comprehensive conversation.

Upon completion of the Design Sprint, Treefrog kindly provided the following feedback:

“The Hethel Innovation team (Sam & Rikke) provided us with valuable support. As a relatively new business, we wanted Sam & Rikke’s strategic support to help define our brand values, value proposition, and elevator pitch that we could use in our business going forward. The process was very well structured and helped us provide clarity and opportunities for our business. The output was well presented and has given us a platform and roadmap of activity to take things forward, which is what we exactly wanted to achieve. As a new business with active clients, it’s sometimes difficult to get the balance right in terms of client delivery and strategic thinking about business growth. The session with the Hethel team enabled us to commit the time and obtain useful external insights and activities that we can take forward to grow the business.”
