Meet the team
Simon started out as a graduate Chemical Engineer designing, commissioning and managing chemical plants in the UK and abroad working for such companies as Shell and BNFL. Following completion of the Fellowship in Manufacturing Management at Cranfield University, Simon took up manufacturing management roles in a variety of businesses. Before his current role, Simon managed a manufacturing site supplying the automotive sector including Nissan, Toyota, BMW, Honda, Jaguar and Land Rover.
As Managing Director of Innovation & Enterprise Hubs for Norfolk County Council Simon manages the enterprise hubs Hethel Engineering Centre (HEC) for the advanced engineering & manufacturing sector, focused on growing the knowledge economy through collaborative innovation, sector focused economic development and business demand driven skills training.
Business Development Manager
William is a graduate of the University of Hertfordshire with a BSc in Electronics and Audio Systems. His experience includes extensive experience in Broadcast Engineering as well as ICT and programming.
William’s role as at Hethel Innovation sees him working with businesses, public sector organisations and academic institutions.
Sophie is an Ecology graduate from the University of East Anglia. Her experience includes roles with RSPB, as well as participation in a Loggerhead turtle conservation project in Kefalonia, as part of her third year undergraduate research project.
Sophie’s role as INA Project Coordinator and Innovation Facilitator, will see her helping the team to run the Innovation New Anglia Project, and focus on the sector of clean technology to achieve ERDF targets. She is also heavily involved in facilitating collaborations between SMEs and research.
Since graduating in 2012 with a BSc in Biological Sciences from UEA Aaron has held communications and research roles at a university, a professional association and a think-tank.
In his position at Hethel Aaron works with organisations across private and public sectors to develop new products and services and otherwise improve their capacity for innovation. He also likes a good walk in the countryside.
